Facebook is primarily a broadcast site, so your focus will be in building and nurturing a community and promoting content to your community so they will eventually make it to your website or blog.
The purpose of Facebook marketing for Small Business
- Build awareness about your brand in the community. By sharing your expertise with others you add value and build credibility and visibility. When your community starts engaging with your Facebook page, their friends will become aware of your business because their activity on your page will show up on their friends’ News Feed.
- Provide customer service. Your customers will use your Facebook page as a customer service tool. They will post customer service issues and reviews, where they are, and they’ll expect you to respond and deal with them online.
- Place content where your customers go every day. When you post on your Facebook page, your content will show up on followers’ news feeds. This is much more effective than email marketing. When your followers log into Facebook, they’ll see content you’ve posted on your page. In the following examples you will see what posts from business look like. Consumers spend 21% of every online hour logged into social media. Having your messages here is much more effective than email.
